Strategic Shift and Collaborative Future

Following productive discussions with NUPRC CEO Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, Carent Oil has made a strategic decision not to develop the awarded marginal field from the 2022 licensing rounds. While this specific asset is not currently aligned with our portfolio roadmap, the meeting yielded positive rapport and opened doors for potential future collaborations within the oil and gas ecosystem.

Highlights of the Marginal Field Bid Round:

  • Strong Industry Appetite: An impressive 665 companies registered, showcasing significant industry interest in growth opportunities.
  • Rigorous Selection Process: Through a meticulous prequalification phase, the pool of potential participants was refined to 535.
  • Carent Oil was awarded 100% interest in the allocated Marginal field.
  • Carent Oil’s Strategic Position: While we have opted not to proceed with the awarded asset, our active participation and strong engagement throughout the process solidify our standing for future collaborations and ventures in the Nigerian oil and gas landscape.
